Debbie Taggart - Hey Joel – you did an amazing job for how crazy things were! You would think a past photographer would be on time and ready to go! Guess you can’t always be in control…. thank you for your patience and understanding – the photography was actually painless for the kids and I fully expected you to have to work double for every shot! Can’t wait to see the full set! Have a great rest of the summer – looks like you’re booked all over the states.

Linda - Beautiful photo! Love it!!

out and about: oregon fly fishing.

In my spare time (i.e., 4:30am in the morning!) I like to get outdoors.  Today I traveled with my friend, Bryan Rupp to the Wilson River for some fly fishing.  It was an amazing morning, with perfectly overcast conditions, complete with Brook Trout.  Here’s Bryan letting loose on the river. Here’s yours truly (thanks for...

Leah Rupp - Bryan is a stud and I’m going to need to buy a print of him in the river! P.s. Joel, you look pretty good too :) . Glad you guys got to do this, I know it was a fun morning for Bryan.

Bryan Rupp - I wanted my first comment to say just that! Thanks for the awesome morning Joel!

Bryan Rupp - You know I love these.

hometown: newberg, oregon.

This is Newberg, where I currently live.  It’s been typical off-and-on stormy weather today, and I love it.  I grew up in Portland and have never lost a love for this weather.  When it pours rain for 5 minutes, then is blue sky for 15, then storms again, it reminds me that breaks are always...

U. Phil - love the photo.. it speaks volumes about the valley and its beauty. I assume those are Filbert trees.
Thanks for sharing!

zach & crystal: oregon engagement.

It’s always fun when the people you photograph are simply fun to be around.  Zach and Crystal meet the prototype, and not only are they fun but they know how to pick a fun location.  I have to say that Domaine Margelle Vineyards near Silverton was stellar!  The possibilities for shooting seemed endless, and knowing...

Shelley - Just gorgeous! I think my favorites are the black & white one and the one of them tucked into a doorway…

Hannah - I guess I will be the first. I don’t normally comment on people’s blogs that I don’t “really” know. But since it’s going to get someone something for free, then I will! (And I guess I do kind of know you. I went to Fox and used to work with your lovely wife at the Coffee Cottage.)

Anyhow, I love the pictures!

family time: oregon coast.

Wow.  Has it really been this long since I’ve posted?  All I can say is the amount of painting and moving we’ve been doing has had nothing to do with that…well, maybe a little bit.  BUT, we just got internet at the new house and I am again up and running!  So, to kick off...

Cherice - Yup, he even brought the tripod to the beach so we could get a family photo but we got too cold before we set that one up…oops! I guess I should try to pry the camera out of his frozen fingers once in a while so Joel’s in some pics, eh?
